The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies and Associations (EFPIA) in cooperation with the European Commission (EC) announced in early July 2013 the ninth round of initiatives Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI). It includes a project Weba, which focuses on the use of new technologies in the field of pharmacovigilance. The aim of the project is to create a mobile application providing information on adverse drug reactions, special software and technical framework for the collection and evaluation of information on pharmacovigilance coming from social media. The project offers Weba and Czech research teams, SMEs and other actors in the field of information technology amount exceeding 118 million crowns.
